The book RUBAE

Ukrainian graffiti artist RUBAE presented the first book with his own works. In it, the artist collected 132 graffiti, created by him on freight cars of trains of the construction company "Kovalska" from the fall of 2018 to the winter of 2022.

The author said that, while creating the book, he wanted to "document a unique period in the history of Ukrainian graffiti and popularize the underground among people who do not belong to this culture." Another goal of the book is to shed light on the Ukrainian graffiti movement, which could be overlooked by the international community.
The book contains photos of wagons on which the artist placed his graffiti. The basis of the works is the interpretation of the logos of famous international and Ukrainian companies from RUBAE, which the artist himself calls "his main feature".

RUBAE said that he created the first graffiti on "Kovalska" cars back in 2018, and already in 2020 "there was not a single free space for drawing on them."
"It was these wagons that made a kind of revolution in the community of freight bombers and Kyiv writers. The absence of metal ribs on the surface of the car allows you to draw at your pleasure, as if on canvas."
The artist added that despite the company's management's positive attitude toward graffiti, he repeatedly faced negative reactions from Ukrzaliznytsia employees and station workers who called the police.
