This is Caravaggio - A.Howard
Caravaggio's life is more incredible than fiction. In the early 1600s, he was the most famous painter in Rome, creating impressively realistic and dramatic canvases commissioned by noble clients.
He did not obey any rules and was famous throughout Italy for his violent temper. He committed murder, became a knight and escaped from one of the most impregnable prisons in the world. He created images of saints, depicting ordinary people from the streets and markets. Worked perfectly with light and shadow. He wore only black and did not buy new clothes until the old ones began to fall apart, but he always chose only the best materials for work.
Caravaggio became the founder of European realistic painting of the 17th century and one of the true innovators in the history of Western art.
