These are notes compiled by Elizabeth Anscum, which the philosopher wrote in the last years of his life. Here, the problem of color, which had interested Wittgenstein since the days of his Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, is examined in detail.
Wittgenstein argues with Goethe and Runge, discusses colors that are impossible to conceive, talks about blindness and color blindness, and ultimately shows the connection between language games and the use of words to denote color. Seemingly fragmented and chaotic, Wittgenstein's text, on the one hand, offers a new perspective on the philosophical problem of color, and on the other, continues the tradition.
The book will be of interest to philosophers, artists, scientists, designers, and anyone who sees the world in colors.
