KYIV - Sergey Maidukov
The first artbook of artist and illustrator Serhiy Maidukov KYIV by Sergiy Maidukov is a visual story about Kyiv, based on more than 50 color illustrations and black-and-white sketches created by the author during 2018-2021. Serhiy Maidukov is the main character who feels the city's rush and bizarre beauty of everyday life, colors and moods of the streets.
KYIV by Sergiy Maidukov is a book by an artist for whom Kyiv was not his hometown, but gradually became so. And although the name of the artbook suggests that it will be about locations, buildings and interiors, it is not a guide, but a disassembled mosaic, which the reader will reassemble for himself. Among the illustrations you will recognize: "Flying Saucer" and Hotel "Salyut", elevators and port area near the Dnieper, Theater on the Hem and the Motherland, the interiors of the House of Cinema and Rye Market, Shulyavka and Dorogozhychi.
The publication includes a foreword by journalist Oleksiy Tarasov, as well as his conversation with Serhiy Maidukov. All texts in the artbook are written in two languages: Ukrainian and English.
